STANDARDIZED TRAFFIC CONTROL TRAINING (FLAG PERSON)


2016-02-18_1230Traffic Control Person Training is a BC Construction Safety Alliance minimum two-day, competency-based course, required to cover the basic theory and practical skills required to become a qualified traffic control person. Completion of this course will satisfy the requirement of the Occupation Health & Safety Regulation.

Participants who successfully complete the training will understand the following:

  • Roles and responsibilities of TCPs, employers and supervisors
  • Regulations and standards, including those set out by Ministry of Transportation, WorkSafeBC and the Motor Vehicle Act
  • Traffic control equipment and devices, including personal protective equipment
  • Setting up, maintaining and removing work zones
  • Working around equipment
  • Basic and advanced traffic control skills

Course Prerequisites: Students need a minimum of grade 10 reading and comprehension abilities with a solid grasp of the English Language. Participants must take part in the entire 16 hours of instruction to obtain certification.

Participants are required by WORKSAFE BC to wear CSA approved construction safety boots to protect the toe, sole and ankle (Construction Boot minimum 6” height – not a shoe or hiking boot) and dress appropriatley (warm & dry in winter and loose clothing in summer – no shorts or tank tops) for working outdoors on day 2; Personal Protective Equipment; vest, wrist/ankle bands, hardhat will be provided for the practical training. Maximum class size is 14.

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (both days)

Registration, Cancellation and Refund Policies; course fees are due upon registration please call to pay by VISA or MasterCard or etransfers can be sent to info@roadmasters.ca  (password is your last name).  Employer or sponsoring agencies need to contact our office for invoicing details.  A refund less bank service fee is provided up to 7 calendar days prior to the start date of the course; no refunds are provided after this date.  Pre-registration ensures a minimum enrolment is met to determine if the course will proceed.  When a course fails to reach this minimum we reluctantly must cancel it.
