Air Brake Course


2016-02-18_1245Learn the basic principals in the operation of air brakes in order to write the provincial certification exam. This interactive classroom instruction includes 16 hours of theory utilizing a demonstration brake component board and hands on foundation brake plus 4 hours of practical hands on training and testing on an air brake equipped vehicle, or your own air brake equipped vehicle if requested.

Plus 4-hours of practical 6:00 -10:00 pm Monday or Tuesday evening the following week “arranged in the classroom”. These 4 hours include the pre-trip practical test. Upon successful completion you’ll receive a form to take to ICBC who will charge a fee for the provincial computer touch screen exam consisting of 25 questions plus an additional fee to replace your Drivers License to include the Air Brake endorsement.
Please prepare time for homework on Saturday after class.

Course Details

Date: Courses are offered once per month – check the calendar for dates. No course in August.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Lunch will be on your own from approx. 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.; there are restaurants at Admirals Walk close by).

Location of Training: Camosun Coastal Centre – 100 Maplebank Rd., Esquimalt BC V9A 4M1 turn off Admirals Rd on to Maplebank and follow the signs.

Cost: $230 per person (no tax) payment is required to register.
